This is Chance, a sweet old female cocker who only gets groomed once a year. The owners said that she was having a hard time walking around and thought there was something wrong with her back. They thought they were going to have to put her to sleep. She sat on the table so sad, but finally perked up quite a bit in the tub and finally laid down as if to say, "Ahhhh, that feels soooo good." When I finally got her year's growth off including fleas, I discovered several toenails curled into her pads. She probably didn't have a bad back, just severely neglected nails and matted feet. When done she pranced like a puppy and covered my face with grateful kisses. The owner was relieved to know it was only ingrown toenails and he wouldn't have to put her to sleep.
