Lexi was not only really matted, but had a nice home haircut. As you can see from the first picture, she has a lot more hair on her front legs than her back legs. I'm not sure if you can see in the after photo but she has a lot of divots; where her mom cut big hunks of mats out. Lexi was a complete doll during the whole process, even though her mom said she had never had a professional haircut. Her problems were more extensive than her mats. She had never had the hair in her ears pulled (and was developing nasty ear infections), or her anal glands expressed. When she was picked up I gently explained to her mom that she was getting more that a hair cut. I told her about anal gland expression, ear plucking, and teeth brushing. Her owner agreed to take her to a vet and get her ears looked at. But best of all Lexi is scheduled for a regular 6 week trip to see me for the next year. I love my job.
