"Why I Became a Groomer" or
"Why I Want to Become A Groomer"

In the thirty years that I have been alive some of my best friends have been of the canine race. Each and every animal that I have had the pleasure to know holds a very special place in my heart. As for the ones who have passed on, I know they are watching over me from a grand place where the fields are always green to run and play in. Pooh-bear was the Golden Retriever that I grew up with.  He came into my life when I was just two years old. He was just a puppy. We grew up together, learned together, played together, and got into trouble together. He loved to make mud pies with me, or should I say I baked the mud pies and he loved to eat them.  Unfortunately, he passed on when I was seven from heartworms. Back then I don't think they had the medicines that are out now.

Throughout the years I had cats and dogs. I could name them all, but we only have 1,000 words or less. On my twenty-fifth birthday my boyfriend took me to the Animal Shelter to adopt a puppy. This is when I got my Ragz A. Muffin. This is the most amazing dog that ever existed. He is the love of my life, my angel sent straight from Heaven.  I raised him from seven weeks old until now he is five years old. Through these five years he has made my life wonderful. The love he gives is unconditional, and the loyalty is never ending.

For so many years I could not figure out what to do with my life. I always wanted to do something with animals, but I am not a very studious person. I cannot concentrate on a book for that long. I am much more the creative type. Then I discovered grooming, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. What better way to spend my days than making dogs and cats feel better and look better. I could also volunteer my services to local animal shelters to help the homeless animals be groomed and make it easier to find homes.

Every animal I have come into contact with throughout my life has given me an unconditional love, and respect that would stand the test of time. Whether I am in contact with the animal on a daily basis or not, that love is still there. I want to return that love and respect in any way that I can.  Grooming was the best way that I personally could return it. I have a great adoration for all animals, domestic or not. They always stay true to themselves, they are not worried about money or superficial things. All they really want is to survive, and for our domestic friends, all they want is for us to be there....and to love them, always.
